Land Acknowledgement

The Sitka and Stillness Collective operates from the traditional and unceded territories of the Coast Salish Peoples, including the Lekwungen-speaking peoples (Songhees and Esquimalt Nations), and the W̱SÁNEĆ peoples, whose historical and ongoing relationship with this land inspires the very core of our work on resilience and restoration.

In establishing this space, we set the intention of homecoming—a place where resilience, deep roots, and stillness are found. We honor the enduring relationship the original stewards hold with this land, recognizing their presence is what makes this a sacred place for healing.

Our contributions are deeply rooted in awareness and respect for the traditional stewards of the land. We honor the ancient relationship these Nations hold with the land, recognizing that this very earth offers the resilience, deep roots, and stillness required for all of us to embark on our path of healing.

Truth and Reconciliation

Integrity and Reciprocity: Our Commitment to the Land

Our practice of Truth and Reconciliation is built on genuine reciprocity and support for Indigenous Sovereignty. We commit to making a tangible contribution to the future of the land and its original stewards.

  • Financial Pledge: A direct commitment of ($50-$75 per guest, or 1% of gross revenue, whichever is greater) from every Canadian hosted Grand Sanctuary retreat is donated to RAVEN Trust.

  • Purpose: These funds are dedicated to supporting Indigenous-led Land Back initiatives, legal defense of territory, and the establishment of Indigenous Protected and Conserved Areas (IPCAs), ensuring the self-determination and conservation of traditional lands.

  • Deepening Local Impact: We are actively pursuing direct engagement with the Lekwungen-speaking peoples (Songhees and Esquimalt Nations) and the W̱SÁNEĆ peoples to identify opportunities for meaningful, local partnership and direct stewardship support.

This commitment is an active contribution to the integrity and health of the territories that hold us.
