(Late Autumn Deepening & Integration)
As the late autumn nights draw inward and the frost begins to touch the ground, the earth transitions into a deep, restorative stillness. We move from the active fire of October into the cosmic rest and preservation of November.
This evening draws its inspiration from Devutthani Ekadashi—the sacred time marking Lord Vishnu’s awakening from his four-month cosmic slumber (Yog Nidra). In Hindu cosmology, Vishnu is the preserver, the sustainer of life, and the keeper of cosmic order (Dharma). His awakening does not represent a sudden burst of fierce energy, but rather the steady, unwavering heartbeat of the universe—the blue light of infinite space and the calm center in the turning of the seasons.
Just as Vishnu rested in Yog Nidra upon the cosmic ocean before awakening with renewed clarity, we are invited to enter that same sanctuary of conscious sleep. To awaken into our own clarity, we must first give our bodies permission to drop into profound rest. This journey invites you to honor your internal reserves, clear the static of late autumn, and anchor into an enduring sense of peace as we step toward the winter threshold.
In this session, we bridge the sacred myth of Vishnu's slumber with the direct practice of Yoga Nidra—the art of conscious relaxation. Guided by spoken word, gentle harmonium, and soft vocal chanting, you will be led into a state of effortless stillness where body and mind can truly settle. Following the Nidra practice, you will rest as gentle, ambient soundscapes wash over you to support deep integration.
Like Vishnu resting upon the cosmic ocean, we will use conscious stillness to find stability amidst movement, emerging refreshed, centered, and rooted in our own sustaining light.
The Cosmic Hum: We begin with a low, resonant drone to mirror the quiet expanse of the universe, creating a grounding sanctuary to anchor the nervous system and draw your awareness inward.
Devotional Chant (Mantra & Harmonium): Activating the heart and throat centers through a gentle, rhythmic chant dedicated to Vishnu (Om Namo Bhagavate Vasudevaya) to quiet cognitive noise and cultivate deep inner stability.
Guided Yoga Nidra: The centerpiece of our evening. You will be guided through a spoken Yoga Nidra—entering the threshold between wakefulness and sleep in quiet stillness to release deep exhaustion and rest at your core baseline.
Ambient Soundscapes, Crystal Bowls & Soft Gongs: As the Nidra practice concludes, we transition into soft, ambient soundscapes. Pristine crystal bowls and subtle, gentle waves of soft gong frequencies create a warm ocean wash—soothing the nervous system without overwhelming the senses, allowing you to integrate the practice and awaken gently.
A Communal Landing: Warming Root & Golden Milk Tea
To anchor our shared experience, we will gather afterward for a comforting, warming infusion of golden spices and root teas paired with a simple, sweet Prasad, celebrating the sweetness of sustenance and the warmth of our shared community.
