As the autumn nights grow longer and the shadows deepen, the earth calls us into a time of true discernment. We transition from the harvest of September into the fierce, protective medicine of mid-October.
This evening draws its inspiration from Durga Saptami—the seventh sacred night of Navratri, celebrating the goddess Durga. She is the supreme cosmic mother, the warrior of light who rides a tiger and carries the collective weapons of the gods.
Durga does not represent a gentle peace, but a fierce, protective love. She is the energy that cuts through illusion, conquers fear, and restores absolute balance (Dharma) to our internal and external worlds. This is a journey of reclaiming your personal sovereignty, building healthy boundaries, and stoking the internal flame that cannot be extinguished by the changing seasons.
In this session, we will use the warm, grounding drone of the harmonium to lead a communal Bhajan. We will weave the fierce, protective names of Durga into a steady, rhythmic fire. These sounds are designed to activate the solar plexus, clear out stagnant energy or lingering doubts from the summer cycle, and align your personal frequency with the protective, sovereign power of October.
Like Durga, we will use our collective breath to cut through the noise of the mind, emerging with a strength defined by steady, fearless devotion to our own truth.
The Shield of Sound: We begin with a deep, resonant hum, building a vibrational sanctuary around the space to ground the nervous system and anchor your energy.
The Harmonium & Warrior Chant: Activating the solar plexus and throat chakras. A practice of reclaiming your voice and power, using a rhythmic, building mantra dedicated to Durga (Om Dum Durgayei Namaha) to burn away self-doubt.
Crystalline Bowls: Bringing a crystal, laser-like clarity to the higher chakras, cutting through mental fog and leaving a sense of pristine inner vision as the fire of the chant settles.
Symphonic Gongs: A "Fierce Resonance"—high-intensity, deep, and enveloping frequencies that mimic the thunderous roar of Durga’s tiger, designed to shatter old limitations and leave only your core, sovereign essence.
To anchor our power, we will gather afterward for a warming, fiery ginger and clove-infused tea paired with a rich, spiced Prasad, celebrating the internal fire that keeps us warm as the autumn air turns cold.
